A Fountain for all Ages
If you are familiar with the show Married with Children, then you will easily recognize this fountain. Located in Grant Park, the fountain symbolizes Lake Michigan with four water-spouting sea creatures, which represent the four states touching the lake. The spray begins small, each basin fills, and at the climax, the fountain sprays up to 150 feet high. At night the fountain is timed with color lights, illuminating the structure. It’s really beautiful to see, and if you’re touring Chicago, without a doubt you will eventually see this…whether you’re on a walking tour or driving by in a taxi.
