Sandwell Valley Country Park
I have been to Sandwell Valley Country Park which is located just about 1 mile from West Bromwich Town Centre. It is a huge 2000 acres of woodland and parkland.I have been here to enjoy walks around the lakes and to look at the remains of an old Benedictine Priory. I noticed that there are a lot of footpaths for walkers, and cycle paths. Some information boards told me that the Footpaths include part of the Beacon Way, which is a 25 mile path from Sandwell Park Farm to Gentleshaw. Within this country park, there are 2 farms, which are open to the public. I have been to this park on several occasions. I like to walk the many paths that are there, especially the paths around the lakes. There is a sailing club, that hold events on the lake, and you can spend some time watching these sail boats race. The farm is also interesting, especially designed for young children to look at and feed the animals. If touring in the Midlands, this is definitely worth a visit. More popular in my opinion, at the weekend. [more] |
