Manokan Country as the Mecca of Chicken Inasal
When talking about scrumptious chicken bbq in the Philippines, there’s only one place to find it—Bacolod City. Chicken inasal is one of the prides of this province because of its unique taste. It is tender and full of flavor, with or without sauce. And when in Bacolod, one of the best places to eat such a meal is in Manokan Country. It is a small place in San Juan St. where different eateries line up to serve authentic grilled chicken meals. This place is open-air, but don’t fret! It’s not like you’re in Manila that you’ll suffer from pollution. Bacolod isn’t that polluted (yet,) so you can still breathe fresh air here. Another thing, the best way to eat your chicken inasal is by hands. Yes, you’ll see customers—both locals and tourists—eating with their bare hands. I tried it, and it was fun! Eating with bare hands only shows you how local people eat “deliciously” in Manokan Country, and seeing those people eat like that only proves it’s more than just finger-licking goodness in Manokan Country!
