Chicken Inasal Trip at Nena’s Beth
Just this month, I brought my boyfriend to my hometown—Bacolod City. Though the reason for our travel wasn’t really for pleasure but for the loss of my grandmother, I didn’t let the grieving atmosphere hinder my boyfriend’s excitement. He was excited because it was his first time in the province, and he immediately asked for local cuisines or delicacies. Well, what could have I given him but the famous Bacolod chicken inasal. I know this cuisine has already reached the food commerce in Manila so I made sure that he would taste an authentic chicken inasal. That was how we landed at Nena’s Beth. This open-air restaurant is one of the eateries lined up in Manokan Country. Nena’s Beth serves flavorful grilled chicken meals. We had four chicken breasts and one liver—all was accompanied with plain rice and soft drinks. I was right in bringing him at Nena’s Beth. He (actually, we all) ended up so full that we couldn’t stand up to walk. What’s more, our meals just cost 460Php which is roughly US$10. Food, price, local atmosphere—all these make up for a gastronomically satisfying and authentic Bacolod dinner. [more] |
