Leasowes Park
Leasowes Park in Halesowen, West Midlands, apparently is listed on the English Heritage's Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England. It is quite a big park and covers a large area which also includes the Halesowen Golf Club. I have been to this park with my grandson, to walk around the woodland areas and the hillsides along with the grassy areas and small lakes and streams. There are paths around these lakes, and you can have a nice walk around a proper trail, looking at wildlife, discovering different wild flowers and different types of trees. On the weekend I haveseen fishermen fishing in the lakes and families enjoying themselves sailing model boats. There is also a nice children’s play area, with all the usual swings and slides one would expect to find. It is surprising to find a park like this, so close to the industry of the local town, but yet it feels like it is in the country side. It is a nice place to spend on a day off with family. There are park wardens based at this site, where you can obtain more information. [more] |
