A Low-Key Bar in a Trendy Neighborhood
Sometimes you just want a cheap beer in a laid-back bar. This can sometimes be hard to find in major urban centers, but when I get that urge in DC I go to Millie and Al’s in the Adams Morgan neighborhood. This is definitely not any place fancy, though I hesitate to call it a real dive bar. It’s just an unpretentious and unassuming place with cheap beer and occasionally cheap Jell-o shots (they have a light behind the bar that blinks sporadically throughout the nights. When it flashes Jell-o shots are a dollar). Their Happy Hour specials are also unbeatable- on Wednesday before 9pm pints of Miller are $1- unheard of in this city. [more] |
