Romantic Italian hideaway
Cafe Delfini is one of my favorite little gems amongst Italian eateries in Santa Monica. Tugged away in Santa Monica canyon, a little community just north of Third Street Promenade along Pacific Coast Highway, this tiny romantic hideaway serves authentic, fresh Northern Italian cuisine in a cozy, candle-lit dining room. All the pastas are homemade, and they always have daily specials. From the menu I can recommend the Bresaola (thinly sliced Italian aged beef) with arugula and parmesan to start, and then the Linguini in pesto-tomato sauce. For dessert, the Bacio (chocolate and hazelnut ice cream, encased in dark chocolate) is delicious!
