Not KL, Not Sepang
Putrajaya is an odd place, simply because at one time, not so long ago, it never existed. The Malaysian government decided to create a brand new location for the ministerial offices and the Prime Minister. So starting with a huge piece of land between the airport at Sepang and the capital Kuala Limpur they built a superlative collection of buildings , meant to impress. There are beautifful bridges, lakes, a golf course and a myriad of spectacular office buildings .. but it's in the middle of nowhere. The Marriott is one of the few hotels, and it is magnificant, but for me the most impressive building of them all is the mosque, in all its glorious pink. Its worth having al ook at what architects can do, given a blank sheet of paper Its a place which is interesting and to spend a night or two out of KL. [more] |
