Worth a quick look
In the city of Saint John's, Newfoundland, Canada, I found Signal Hill, a long, uphill walk from the heart of downtown. Of interest to people who like learning while they travel, Signal Hill is a Canadian historical site as it was the first point in the 'New World' where a wireless signal was received over the great expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. The grounds of Signal Hill include educational plaques, an old fort-type building, and incredible views of the cliffs near Saint John's and the entrance to that city's harbour. I would be surprised if one could spend more than 30 minutes here as there is not a ton to do and if you go in the winter, as I did, make sure you dress very warmly as the winds off the ocean are fierce.
