Chiang Mai is justifiably one of the most impressive cities of Thailand, with tthe moat and the gates being evidence to a long history, Some700 years old, the ancient city has retained its cultural heritage, whilst always increasing its tourist visitor numbers. The moat circling the old city is much as it has always been. A good day out is to cycle around the city walls and the moat. The Gates in the centre of each side of the walls have been recently restored so it is all looking better than ever.
