Russian Cemetery in Ruhrsee
Honestly, we found this place by accident. It is located about 1 km away from Ruhrsee Lake. German government built this cemetery as a memorial to the Russian soldiers who died in the WWII. The cemetery is not very large, but very neat. There were more than 500 soldiers died and buried there, but I don’t think there are about 500 tombs, because it doesn’t look like there are 500 tombs there.
I can not read the headstones at all, because they were all written in Russian. Before you enter the cemetery, you’ll have to walk about 200 meters, and then you’ll pass a great designed house. It was built out of stone and wood. It looks like a Japanese house to me, especially the rooftop. [more ]
