Cosy bar - great atmosphere
Die Bank is a bar near Sendlinger Tor. It is located in the former premises of a Hypovereinsbank branch – hence its name. I like to go there occasionally as the bar has a very comfortable feel to it and you don’t have to dress up to go there.
The first thing you notice when you walk in, is their random assortment of different chairs, couches and sofas. It almost looks like someone cleared out the attic of an old furniture store. However, I think that’s why this bar looks and feels so cosy – almost like you are sitting in a friend’s living room. The bar serves beers, all sorts of spirits and they also do pretty good cocktails. At the back of the bar is a small area where you can play tabletop football or relax on the big leather sofas.
The music is usually good in there and not too loud so you can still have a conversation. If you walk up the stairs to go to the bathroom you will be surprised to find all sorts of different things upstairs. I haven’t quite figured out yet if there is actually a shop up there because that’s what it looks like when you walk past. There is definitely a little pizza restaurant up there where you can order pizzas to eat in the bar downstairs. We tried one last night and it was pretty good actually!
All in all, this bar is a great location for a drink. I would recommend going there before you hit the clubs later in the night.
