Olympia Restaurant, Bar & Swimming Pool
Olympia Restaurant is a restaurant I have been to with friends. 4 of us went to this restaurant. It is located within an urbanisation called Mil Palmeras, which is a few miles south of the popular Torrevieja area of Spain. Olympia is a restaurant and bar and it has the added advantage of an outdoor swimming pool. It is Spanish owned and the food is Spanish based, but they do have English staff serving at this restaurant. The urbanisation has a mixture of Spanish, English and other European residents and it is a very popular location for holidaymakers. I went at lunchtime at the end of March, just before the holiday season really starts. I chose to have a meal from the ‘Menu del Dia’ (Menu of the Day) menu. For a starter I had fish strips with salad, the fish strips were as one may expect strips of fish in batter, with a side salad on the plate. For a main course I had Veal which was in breadcrumb batter with chips and vegetables. For dessert I had cheesecake. I have to say that the food was very nicely cooked and tasted delicious, it was hot and the service was very good. We were served by the English and Spanish staff who were very pleasant. The rest of my group had starters of battered mushrooms in garlic, crab salad and fish strips like me. The mains were battered cod; another person had veal and Hake. The menu del dia is priced at 9.95€ per person, drinks were extra. The total bill for 4 people was 50€. For a typical holiday area restaurant in Spain, this was nice food and good value for money.
