The first University in Galicia
Fonseca Palace was built in 1544 and it is considered the place where the origin of the first Galician university was established. Fonseca is currently the University and the beauty of the building can be admired as little reformations have been done throughout the centuries. I particularly love the gardens and patios with beautiful flowers and designs. The building also is home to a Library and important events are held here. Fonseca is open for the public and you will easily find it a few metres from the cathedral. You will find the famous patio as you walk from the main doors. [more] |
