Outeiro - Monumental Church stars

Outeiro's main church is classified as a Portuguese National Monument. It is called Igreja do Santo Cristo de Outeiro, based on a supposed miracle about a bleeding statue of Christ. The church construction dates to 1648 having quite beautiful baroque interiors, especially the high altar in gold-painted wood. The main entrance and the lateral doors are just majestic – as well as the inner ogival arches. As you walk inside you will see some knights' tombstones covering the floor – as a testimony to the old history of the village and church.
