Kokuryo - Glasgow's Only Korean Restaurant

 stars
Kokuryo is quite unexpected, situated as it is in the midst of an area of traditional Scottish bars and restaurants, and it's quite amazing that it's still thriving, especially since the average life-span of a restaurant on Argyle St is around 4 months. The only thing that can account for this is simply the quality of the food.

The restaurant is tiny, so I would recommend ringing ahead. As for the food, there's a huge range and in true Asian style you can swap around the ingredients to some degree. There are plenty of good spicy options and the portions are generous. I've never had sushi there but I've heard good things. Overall, Kokuryo offers what Glasgow is so sadly lacking - decent and unusual international cusine. [more]
