Miyako - Great Old Time Sundae Parlour
Miyako Old Fashioned Ice Cream parlour really lives up to its name; when I first stumbled upon it I felt like I'd gone back in time. It manages to create a kitschy Americana feel without being tacky. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that the ice cream is great and the staff are wonderful, and fit in to the old fashioned atmosphere of the whole place. They do a range of sundaes and ice cream sodas with all the toppings you could ask for, and the prices are pretty reasonable. They also have a really exotic range of flavours. The only downside to it is that it's a takeaway place and there's nowhere you can sit down to enjoy your indulgence. Still, I'm really glad to have found it and will definitely be going back until I've tried out all of their range. [more] |
