All Style, No Substance
There is a block on K St that is riddled with trendy (and pricey) dance clubs, including Lotus Lounge. I went on a Friday night and apparently got there early enough to miss the long line to get in (I witnessed it on my way out) but also too early for there to be any action inside. The long bar was nearly empty and the few people that were there were seated in a section with their friends, separated from the rest of the room by a velvet rope. The decorations were intentionally minimalistic (mostly white with colored lighting) and the music was jarring and loud. As the night wore on and the lounge filled up, the atmosphere did not get any more pleasant. I just got harder to move. Overall, I was not impressed with Lotus. [more] |
