My experience
I lived in Sydney from 2006-2011. I found an apartment in Chippendale. I worked at Sydney University. Everyday, going to my office, I had to pass by the Victoria Park Pool. Soon I decided to become a member. My goal: to start learning to swim correct. I needed some time and the other customers were very friendly and helped me. I visited the pool every day and every day it was a nice experience. For me it was also a place of socialization. I met great friends there. I enjoyed also the sun. My friends and colleagues I had been in holidays !!! Now not having a swimming pool nearby I miss very much this great time. Even an apartment at a beautiful beach cannot be compared with it. And of course the location in a beautiful park in the middle of the beautiful city of Sydney. At the weekends one could enjoy his drink in the beautiful suburb of Newtown. Victoria Park Pool is a versatile outdoor and sporting complex with well-maintained facilities such as: eight lane 50 meter Olympis pool, children's pool, a fully-equipped Fitness Centre, cafe and a swim shop. There is a narrow strip of soft turf between the pools and the surrounding fences, ideal for spreading your towel and sunbathing. This enclosed area is a perfect place for stressed city workers and tired travellers to escape the crowds of the metropolitan city. Situated in the middle of the green Victoria Park and adjacent to Glebe Village, it is easily accessible from the city and the other close suburbs on the southern side of Sydney.
