Newington Armory at Homebush, area that is also known as Sydney Olympic Park, turns into a one long weekend lasting party destination for tens of thousands of punters, when an institutional The Great Escape festival arrives in town once a year. A fine line-up of international and local acts are the main crowd-pullers, but this event is more than just a music festival. Comedians, cabaret acts, yoga classes, workshops, cinema, acrobatics etc. etc. makes sure that there is something for everyone. One of the buildings is completely dedicated for natural and alternative therapists. A vivid amusement park and its gigantic ferris wheel that is build in conjunction with the venue serves as a great landmark. The tickets are available either for one day entry or the whole weekend, the latter one including a camping pass as well. [more] |
