The Three Sisters, Katoomba

4.0 stars

The Three Sisters

Rising nearly one kilometre above sea level, The Three Sister is one of the most distinctive landmarks visible from Echo Point at Blue Mountains. Located only 2,5 kilometres from Katoomba town centre and railway station, and about 100 kilometres from Sydney, it is easily accessible and visited only in one day. The rock formations are named after three Aboriginal ladies that according to the dreamtime mythology lived as members of the Katoomba tribe. A signposted walking track from the parking place and viewing platform leads to the base of the spires. At night the towers are floodlit creating a great contrast against the dark background. Magnificient views spreading across Jamison Valley modestly reminds of Grand Canyon. [more ]
