Get Going To Green Springs In Enterprise, Florida

 stars
Green Springs is an often forgotten park in west Volusia County. It’s in a rather secluded area near Lake Monroe. Green Springs was at one time part of a large estate belonging to a wine importer and steamboat entrepreneur. Today, it’s a trailhead for the still under construction 26 mile Spring to Spring trail stretching from Gemini Springs Park to DeLeon Springs State Park. Green Springs is a sulfur spring and I think this ingredient is what makes the water a milky, green color. Depending on how the sunlight hits it, the colors vary. It’s quite beautiful whether you see it in a rainstorm or on a sunny day. Green Springs is a small park, with limited parking. The park itself is only about 36 acres, but there is a picnic pavilion, playground, restrooms and handicap accessible walkways that provide scenic overlooks for the visitor. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Admission is free.
