Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi
With 40 degree heat outside, the air conditioned lobby of the Crowne Plaza hotel was a great relief. Though the hotel’s rooms are spectacular for the money, the lobby felt a little small and pokey and not terribly inviting. However, it’s a minor quibble. The rooms are spacious and if it wasn’t for the fact that the beach beckoned, I could’ve quite happily spent the rest of my day dozing on the luxurious king-sized bed. The hotel’s bars were pleasant enough, nothing too ostentatious and the restaurant food was above average. For me breakfasts were the best as I could combine the good (plenty of fresh fruit, juice and low-fat yoghurts) with the bad (sausages, bacon, beans and on a separate plate - muffins). Centrally located, the hotel is a good base from which to explore Abu Dhabi and the surrounding areas. [more] |
