Hotel Pricessa Yaiza
The hotel is a five star luxury hotel just off the Playa Dorada beach, towards the east end of the resort, about 10minutes walk from the new Rubicon Marina. I've stayed in several hotels in Playa Blanca and I would say that this is the best - it has an amazing design and layout and the best breakfast I've ever
had outside the UK. It is very clean and has helpful and friendly staff.
The layout of the hotel corridors are like Spanish streets with shuttered windows facing in and signposts at junctions. We were lucky enough to get a suite which had a double bedroom, a living room with 2 sofa beds and a dining area, a huge bathroom and a small kitchen worksurface area (it had a microwave and minibar but no crockery/cutlery or kettle). The rooms and public areas are very clean and spacious.
The hotel has 2 pools (although they are not that warm), a thalassocentre, several restaurants and bars, hairdresser (open 4-8pm) shops and a gym. There is a supermarket across the road next to the hotel block D and there is only a10mins walk into the centre of town. The gym has a wide range of equipment and offers classes. It is open from 8-1 and then 4.30-6.30pm and
closed on sundays.
The thalassocentre is open from 9am-8pm and has a pool, sauna and turkish bath and offers a variety of treatments. Massages range from 35-105Euros and there are a variety of day programmes. beauty treatments are from 8Euros.
As a note not all of the sun terrace is in the sun all day - so you might have to plan carefully where you get your lounger! You have to pay a deposit for the towels.
The hotel offers 24hr room service which is excellent value for money (8Euros for pasta/sandwich and mains 11-18Euros). The breakfast is excellent - there is a variety of juices, cereals, breads, pastries and cakes. There is hot food include omelettes, toasties and pancakes as well as cold meats and cheeses and a selection of health food. The hotel has several restaurants
and most are open for breakfast from 7.30am until 10.30am, they offer the same food, but we preferred the layout in the Piazetta although if you want breakfast on the terrace you can in the Hacienda.
There is a Japanese restuarant (Kampari), a Mexican buffet (Hacienda), an Italian buffet (Piazetta), an international cuisine buffet (Yaiza) and an a la carte restuarant (Los Lobos). There is also a poolside bar (Chiriguito), the Papaya juice bar, an Italian restuarant (Don Giovanni), a cafe/ice-cream parlour and a tapas bar. Some restaurnats are closed on Monday evenings otherwise they tend to be open 7.30-10.30pm. The main hotel bar is open until 1am.
The hotel has 4 computers for use, cost of the internet is 9euros per hour.
The beach nearby is sandy and has banana boat, jet ski, parascending and pedaloes. Pedaloes cost 15Euros for an hour. [more ]
