Bruehl is a wonderful small city halfway between Cologne and Bonn. The city has two wonderful baroque palaces – Schloss Augustusburg and Schloss Falkenlust, around them is the marvelous castle park. The city itself is a very calm place and a perfect opportunity for a day trip from any of the big cities around. Anyways the city center is just normal, probably without the palaces I wouldn’t have visited it at all. Still, there are some small nice streets in the center and having just visited the amazing palaces I felt like I am in a fairy tale, so the city center was worth visiting- somehow without it the palaces wouldn’t have been so interesting.
