Day 9 - Bye Bye North Island.

Otaki is only about an hour north of Wellington, New Zealand's capital city. The drive down State Highway 1 is fast and smooth, and I left early to make the most of my day in the city.
I spent most of the day in Te Papa, the national museum. This modern looking building (it created quite a controversy when it was built in little old conservative New Zealand because it wasn't square...) houses three levels of exhibits relating to all areas of New Zealand's past. And there are more levers and buttons than you can shake a stick at, which never fails to keep me occupied.
