A growing city between skyskrapers and beach lagoon
Cairns has changed tremendously since I last saw it about five years ago. While it still had the charm of a small town back then the growing city now displays numerous skyscrapers and the general feeling of a major city. While I was less than impressed with most of the changes, the waterfront, which had a bit of a dirty look to it, has actually improved a lot. A wide boardwalk that connects grassy park areas and a beautiful (artificial) swimming lagoon, has replaced the mudflats.
