Aaaah beautiful Venice, or Venezia as the Italians would say!! I have been to Venice on 3 occasions and find myself longing to go back again. It is one of the most romantic cities I know of in the world. It is so different to anything else you can experience. I love comparing venice with things of the "real world". Example. where people cross the canals (roads) by traghetti (large gondolas). This only costs about 40 euro cents and is the cheapest way to cross the grand canal (other than the bridge of course). Its also a cheap option for those who cannot afford a gondola ride - usually at around 70/80 euro. (depending what you can negotiate). I call these pedestrian crossings. ... [more] |
