Calella is a nice little town. The beach is very pretty and the train by the beach runs frequently to Barcelona. This only takes about an hour and runs along the coast all the way, making it a pleasant journey. Calella has some nice bars, interesting old architecture and quaint little streets. Tourism has probably done some damage, and the locals are certainly not keen on the English contingent - although after the stay in my hotel I was not so keen on the English contingent either - drunken idiots! Be careful where you stay and its probably worth paying a bit more to avoid the nasty behaivoir I was submitted to! Make sure you take that trip to Barcelona too , it's so close it would be terrible not to!
