Casares pueblo blanco 4 stars

Casares is a beautiful pueblo blanco nestled into the hillside of the Sierra Bermeja range. We were blown away by the winding streets and whitewashed buildings tumbling down the hillside from a Muslim fort.

We enjoyed wandering the narrow streets and admiring the picturesque scenery. There is a pretty central square with a fountain and a few bars and restaurants to rest weary feet. The most commanding site is the Medieval fortress and if you’re wearing sensible shoes you can clamber up to admire the crumbling brick work and stunning views. We enjoyed a little liquid refreshment at a charming little restaurant, just beside the fortress and the views from their terrace were wonderful.
