A quiet, picturesque town 5 stars

I visited a friend in Akureyri, and my four-day visit there was life changing. Akureyri may be the prettiest town I've ever visited, and it was certainly one of the friendliest. It's a small place by European standards, but there are still plenty of things to do, though if you're not the staying-busy type then you can just relax outside with your cup of hot chocolate under the lights of Aurora Borealis. It wasn't nearly as cold as I expected, and even though we went in March there was no snow on the ground, which surprised me. There was one other surprise, too: in Akureyri I had one of the best hamburgers I've ever had in my life - in a burger joint situated in a gas station! I don't think you can visit Akureyri and not have a good time.
