Sri Lanka - Colombo
I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of Colombo. There was a heavy army presence when visited (December 2007) and I was continuously stopped and asked where i was going and what I was doing. My bag was also searched in colombo bus station. There isn't much in the was of sights anyway so if you are short on time, you might not want to bother visiting the capital. The airport is actually closer to Negombo anyway, so if you are coming for the beach, I'd recommend you just head straight there [more] |
