If are going through Darmstadt, Germany or are actually taking a vacation there then you might have heard the rumor that the train guys never check your tickets. This rumor is totally false. I can attest to this because I have been caught a few times with no ticket and have had to pay a forty euro fine each time. I am not a criminal but I was just running late and had no time to buy a ticket. The way they do it is that they wear normal clothes and then the just start checking people.
