Deventer is a nice small city in Gelderland in the western part of the Netherlands on the river Ijsel. The main attraction of this town is its enormous cathedral, built in the 14-th century in the typical Dutch Gothic style. The other two big churches in the old town are also quite impressive as are the small streets around the center and the Waag. Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands, becoming its city rights before the year 1000 and its inhabitants are very proud of that.
