Sr Frango literally means “Mr Chicken” in Portuguese, so no prizes for guessing what this restaurant’s most famous dish is! Yes, that’s right, it is Chicken piri piri – a dish that you really should sample when visiting the Algarve.

Sr Fango’s is certainly a popular choice for diners and the food here is really very good. The sauce that the chicken is cooked in is a special recipe allegedly “given by the gods”. Whether that is true or not is debatable, but what is certain is that it really is very tasty.

The restaurant has a warm and friendly atmosphere and Sr. Frango (Mr Chicken) himself is also quite a character!
