Girona history
City of Girona is located on a hill that overlooks the rivers of Ter and Onyar. The city itself was founded by Iberians but you can also note the influences of both Moors and Romans. Since it was an important strategic point different nations did fight over it. When the Moors occupied Girona it was under Arab rule for 3 centuries and there was a notable Jewish presence for well over 600 years.
