Town Hall and Morosini fountain
The square where the town hall and the Morosini fountain stand is the most popular place in Heraklion. My friends and I were accidentally walking in the area around 10pm and we were amazed by the multitude of people that were there, mostly young people and teenagers. I thought it was just a meeting point for them, but there were many of them actually hanging out there. I really liked the square and the town hall building, which dates from the 17th century. It has a lovely exterior, but I couldn’t see it on the inside, as it was so late. The fountain is lovely and the locals call it the “Lion Fountain”.
