Antigua, Guatemala

When I signed up for a Spanish class in Antigua, I was told it was one of the 1,000 places you must see before you die. The first couple of days I was worried it might be the last place I would see. The streets are narrow, lined with horse drawn carts, pedicabs, trucks, cars, motorcycles, buses and an occasional horse or two. Drivers stare straight ahead without a glance left or right. I think the right away goes to the bravest or maybe the most suicidal. The streets are cobblestone and very uneven. The curbs are a foot high in some places.
