Visiting Mt. Vernon
On my excursion to America's beloved capital, perhaps the most worthy adventure I embarked upon while there was the trek over the line into Virginia where I visited the ancient home of our nation's first president, George Washington. Known as Mt. Vernon, it is a spitting image of all the New World glory of your dreams: on a large farm property complete with butter-churn and a mantled fireplace, this stately white house overlooks a beautiful stream and is surrounded by grassy lands.
