New River Gorge
If you want to try first-rate whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and biking in one trip, try the New River Gorge National Recreation Area near Fayetteville, West Virginia. There are many outfitters to help you do these things, tons of campsites and cabins, and plenty of self-propelled adventurers to give you needed beta. Start at the excellent visitor center on the North Rim of the famous New River Gorge bridge.
