Arad
Arad is a city in Western Romania, close to the border with Hungary. The city center is on the right bank of the Murres river and has an enormous boulevard starting from the station and accomodating the main attractions of the city - for example the big white building of the city hall. The cathedral is also very beautiful and there are several other churches that are quite interesting, mainly because this town is in a region where many branches of christianity have met. In a big meander of the river there is an enormous fortress, probably the greatest I have ever seen, but it is not accessible since it is a military base. [more] |
