Kronstadt, Russia
On my visit in Kronstadt I remembered that game we used to play when we were kids, the one where we’d have to destroy each other’s boats. Well, this town in Russia is a Sea Fortress, mostly inhabited by sailors. They say it is impenetrable, and as proof Kronstadt has never been taken. Now there are tree harbours. The eastern harbour is for Russian navy, the middle one is for repairing vessels and the western is for trade and commerce. Nevertheless the port is a ghost port for 150 day per year when ice makes it harder and harder. To my surprise, there was also a Naval Cathedral in Kronstadt.
